It’s funny how yesterday worked out. How the chocolate protein shake I always drink for breakfast made my stomach scream in pain. How braiding my hair got me out of breath. How getting a six-dollar pair of headphones in the mail to replace my old ones was the highlight of my day. How trying to decide what to eat for dinner nearly made me cry in frustration. How I thought I was tired, but then I couldn’t sleep.
That’s all I got for now, simply because, for a person who is chronically ill, sometimes that is the extant of my day. That’s the way it is. And sometimes, it’s nice just to honestly say that.
